Our approach
Our planned work is organised around four pillars. Each describes intended future work; none describes a completed result.
No step below will begin until the required authorizations are in place, including a forestry harvest permit, an access and benefit-sharing (APA) permit and any ACOREP authorization.
1. Botanical identification
Once authorized: botanical identification following accepted practice, including voucher specimens and identification by qualified botanists.
2. Alkaloid characterization
Once authorized: characterization of alkaloid profiles using validated analytical methods through appropriately qualified laboratories.
3. Chain of custody
Once authorized: a documented chain of custody from permitted collection onward, with traceable records at each step.
4. Access and benefit-sharing
Once authorized: access and benefit-sharing under an APA permit and the Nagoya Protocol, including prior informed consent and mutually agreed terms with relevant communities and authorities.
